14 Months!

I can't believe Miss Darby Kate is already fourteen months old! And honestly, the actual day (September 15th) slid right on by. I'm not sure that I even wished her a happy 14 month b-day until the next day! BUT, luckily -- I had taken some pictures from that very day! (it's not even staged this time) She is such a joy -- I just had to share in some of the pictures from that day.

Things she is doing at 14 months (sorry if any of this info is a repeat):
  • interested in using a spoon (still very messy, though)
  • loves, loves, LOVES to eat -- every time she enters the kitchen she starts signing "more"
  • starting to run
  • sleeping 11-12 hrs/night (knock on wood)
  • has 8 teeth plus working on 4 first year molars
  • gives sweet hugs and sugars
  • HATES getting in the car seat 99.9% of the time
  • pushing instead of riding in her little pink car
  • sharing a little better, but definitely enjoys receiving things more than giving :)

Weekend at the Deal's

For those of you who knew about our triathlon training, and that the Hubs was gearing up for his first triathlon -- well, it was cancelled due to POTENTIAL weather hazards. That's Arkansas for ya! Cancel it for what MAY happen. I know. I understand all that has to be done to prepare for a tri, and they couldn't really risk all the "if" factors. AND, it doesn't take long to realize that we are much better off than many that actually weathered the storm. I will say we were somewhat disappointed, though. Now he's off to hunting la la land for the next several months. Maybe I can get him to commit to a tri next season. We'll see.

So we made the best of the weekend and travelled to Greenbrier anyway -- we hung out with the Deal's and ate lots of food and played and shopped and watched football, etc. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way I got sick. It was fairly short-lived (thank goodness!). Thanks, Stephen, Rachel, TD, and GD for such a fun time!

GD -- such a sweetie!

TD was kind enough to drive Sugar around on his Gator - she loved it!
Every now and then she would try and take over the driving

After the Rain.....

Darby Kate loves to play outside. She's getting to where she will stand at the door and just wait to be let out. Kind of like Lucy and Pepper!! No, just kidding! These were taken after one of the many rains we have had recently. At first, she was good about just squatting down and splashing in the puddles. Before I knew it, she was sitting down having a good 'ole time! She's a mess, I tell ya!
She was running towards me just squealing away in this one.

splish splash!
and then she discovered the mud!
she wasn't quite so sure she liked it on her fingers...
then she went in for more!

Playground Fun

Darby Kate and Addison Blaire had a little play date the other day. We met at the church playground. I think the girls were more fascinated with the rocks then anything. Darbs gave Addie Blaire her fair share of hugs! Bebe and Poppa stopped by to see us on their way through town, too!

Whoooo Pigs (Little Rock game)

We were in for the long haul at the Little Rock game. The tailgating began at 10:00 (for us, anyway). Darby Kate and Maggie had a great time. They rode in the wagon, saw the cheerleaders, and they saw Tusk, too! Darbs didn't discover until the latter part of the day that she could roam around outside of our little parking spot. Once she did -- the race was on. Babe said that she even tackled a little boy and took off with his football. Even the little boy was in shock. She had so much fun running up and down the greens and the cart path. She did NOT want to put on her P.J.s and have her mommy tell her that she could no longer get down and run. A little tantrum encouraged us to leave the game early. We cheered the Hogs to victory in the car -- and, she slept all the way home!!!

Darby Kate and Maggie! Go Hogs!

what a face!!

This is Mags and DK inside the Razorback Helmet mobile. I know this picture is a little blurry, but immediately following this shot, Darbs took a tumble and suffered two bloody knees. Her mother suffered a similar injury many years ago at this same exact stadium! :)

Still Catching Up!

Just wanted to post a few pictures that I took a couple of weeks ago. I don't want ya'll missing out on anything! :) Darby Kate is keeping us in stitches. Her little personality is growing and we are having so much fun! She is very strong willed and independent at times, but still wants to hang onto Mommy, too (and I love that!). She is getting her first year molars in, and she is doing pretty well. Only one or two nights have been affected, and I can sometimes tell she is a little fuss pot during the day because of it, too. She is just so sweet -- always giving hugs and sugars (upon request, of course!).

And MORE Florida Pics!

Okay -- I know I've probably gone a little overboard with our pictures from Florida, but we had so many -- it was hard to choose! Also, I'm terrible at getting hard copies printed, and I've had some pressure from Bebe to see more of them. I think this should be the last batch (although I'm not making any promises!)! (PLUS, some of these may have to be recycled once I learn how to use my new photoshop editing program!)

How many Coffee cheeks do you see in this picture?!?

Look at those lips!
