9 Weeks!!

We have a little one that is now officially TWO months! The sad thing is -- I didn't really think about it until about 10:30pm on the 27th. I know -- I'm a terrible mom! Don't worry -- I told her happy b-day!

We've had another busy and fun week. We are steadily making decisions and preparations for the new house. It's coming along, but come on -- must we have record rain the year we are building our house? Seriously, will it EVER stop?!? We are getting a break today, but it's suppose to rain the next couple of days. My goodness!!!!

We went to Arkadelphia this past weekend for Henderson's homecoming festivities. It definitely was a whirlwind between getting food prepped and transported here and there, feeding and dressing kiddos, packing and unpacking........you would of thought we were going and staying for a week by the looks of our Tahoe. I couldn't believe all the stuff we took for a one-night stay (and yes, we needed every bit of it! :) ). It was fun seeing everyone, and we enjoyed beautiful weather on Saturday (a true blessing -- it really would have been impossible with rain and two little ones!) We were able to see Dad receive his "H" award -- congrats again, Dad! Afterwards, we got together at mom and dad's for some of Trev's venison chili and other treats. The kiddos were all dressed in their Halloween shirts that Bebe made them. We actually got a few pics of all of them together (I still need to get them from mom). Darby Kate was suffering from "Sugar Psychosis", so I didn't get a great shot of her with her full outfit on!

On Tuesday, I took Darbs to Storytime at our public library. This week they dressed up and had cupcakes and juice boxes for a little Halloween fun. I didn't have my camera with me, but she looked Super cute as "Super Girl". I can't remember if I've already spoken of the outfit she and Trev picked out at the store (the Stephanie girl character from "Lazy Town"? Pink dress and pink hair.........and she also picked out a pink bucket........) ANYWAY -- I knew she wouldn't wear her pink hair for more than 2.2 seconds, so, I picked up the Super Girl outfit. It was cute and it did not require a head piece. She really like it. She has been the youngest one at storytime since we've been going. She does okay -- still a little young for the attention span to make it the whole time. They listen to a few stories and usually do a little craft. It's really cute. I usually help her out with the craft -- IF she allows it! :)

Jorgia is being her adorable little self. She has decided to get up in the night some this week. I thought we had her sleeping through the night, but she let me know otherwise. I don't mind though -- she is so sweet and wonderful -- and PRECIOUS!! She is just cooing away and grinning up a storm. She started sleeping in her room/office/guest bedroom (poor child) around 6 weeks. I would put her in her Moses basket IN the crib. She has outgrown her "bucket". Now she is sleeping just in her crib. What a big girl!!! I think I'm going to have to change to a swaddle with velcro though, because most of the time when I go in to get her, she has worked her way out of the swaddling blankets -- she is getting so strong!

Here are the pics from the week.................

I pretty much cropped the Bumbo out of the picture, but Jorgia was in her Bumbo for the first time..........

This was when she was ready to get out!!

Darbs sporting her Henderson gear

Jorgia was wearing hers too, PLUS a big spit-up! (and we didn't lose the sock!) -- she looks like a little boy in this picture.......where's that bow when ya need it! :)

8 Weeks!!

Have I mentioned lately how much I love being a mom? It really is a joy and a blessing! Little Miss Jorgia is quickly approaching 2 months! WOW -- she is doing wonderfully well -- eating and sleeping and eating and sleeping. Just this past week we had to break out the gas drops. She was perfectly fine during the day on both occasions, and then during the last feeding of the day -- she was fussy, and just really seemed like she was having a tummy ache (poor little thing). ANYWAY -- we gave her a dose -- she seemed to calm down a bit -- and then she slept from 10:30 to 8:00 in the morning! What a little angel! She has had several more all-night sleeps -- I attribute it to the swaddling only at night -- it seems to work miracles!! She is cooing and smiling a lot more these days. It cracks me up when she really tries hard to talk -- she raises (shrugs) both shoulders at the same time as she says her (oooh) sound -- it really is cute!!

Darby Kate is staying a busy little bee. She is running around in all directions. Her new phrases include: "see ya soon!"; "be right back"; and one that is not a favorite because it comes in many sassy tones, "I TOLD YOU!!". Not quite sure where that last one came from, but she doesn't realize what she is saying. I'll ask her, "you told me what?" and she will just say, "I told you". It comes in many different volumes and she emphasizes it differently depending on her mood. What am I going to do with that girl? (besides love her to pieces????!!?)

This weekend is a busy one for us. It's Henderson's homecoming, so off to Arkadelphia we go. I'll be helping out with the Red Wave alumni stuff on Friday night and Saturday morning, and then before the game -- my Dad will be receiving a big award -- The "H" award!!! It is to recognize someone for their service and commitment to the university. Congrats, Dad!!

Once again, only a few pics from the week -- gotta take them when I get the chance!! :)

Seven Weeks!!

What a week! I wish I didn't wait so long to post about the previous weekend -- I forget details that at the time I just know I would or could NEVER forget! ANYway -- we made the journey to Fayetteville.......and, we had a wonderful adventure. There were definitely some stressful times, but like I told Trev -- I compare it to a workout. There are good times, tough times, times when you feel good, times when you don't......but, when it's all said and done -- you are glad you did it! The hotel stay was our first one-room stay with all of us in there. We carried two pack 'n plays -- guess how many were actually used. You got it -- zero. The first night Darbs did great with her bedtime routine, she said night-night and I layed her down in her little "cage". About 1.2 seconds later, I look over and she is standing up. Then came the tears. Of course she stayed in our bed that night. And the next. I just wanted to try and see how it would go. Now we know. It takes two separate rooms for that girl to stay in her bed!! We also got in later than usual, and Darby Kate had about half the amount of sleep she is used to. Can we say TERROR the next day -- yep, that describes her to a tee. I wasn't too sure how we were going to make it through a morning and afternoon tailgate PLUS ballgame time in between. Luckily -- she passed out towards the end of halftime and slept through most of the third quarter. What a mess!! She refused to wear her jacket or gloves -- poor thing -- her teeth were just a chattering away while she called those HOGS!!

Jorgia -- let's just say she was a trooper!! She traveled great on the way there and on the way home (no stops for feedings!! -- from Arkadelphia) In the hotel -- we put her up on a little table/bench while she was in her basket, and she slept great! I will say on Saturday night I thought we were going to have to break out the gas drops. We even made the trip to the Walmart Pharmacy. BUT, once we got back to the room -- I discovered she had a really dirty dipe -- this surprised me b/c I couldn't tell she had one (smell free believe it or not! :) ) ANYWAY -- once the diaper was changed -- she was fine. CRAZINESS!!

SO -- this is a little hard to follow -- I know. My brain just does not work in an orderly fashion anymore. To sum it all up, our weekend consisted of road travel, eating at the Mellow Mushroom (very good by the way), a little shopping, eating at Shogun's, ColdStone Creamery, Hotel Stay, Ballgame, Tailgating, and dinner with Brad and Whitney Saturday night. WHEW!! We were pretty tired when we went to pick up the puppies in Arkadoo. There, we enjoyed some pickin' and grinnin' and hot dogs!!

I am looking forward to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this weekend. Unfortunately, I am not in good enough shape to run. Getting back in shape has been a SLOW process for me. I am very grateful that I'm able to run these days, but with the combo of all this RAIN...........oh, excuses, excuses. I know. I will try and do better is all I can say...........

Well, it's late for now -- I have much more to share about Darbs and Jorgia.........I will save it for another day. I am so thankful and feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family!!

Oh yeah -- this first picture reminds me of our current issue with Miss Jorgia. She is in no way interested in taking a bottle! We've tried all the tricks we know (which is not much) -- she refuses!! I'm getting a little stressed -- wondering if she will EVER be interested (especially when one article I read online stated, "some babies NEVER take a bottle"). I know there are much worse things to be stressed about, but..............we shall see...........we will keep trying! Any tips out there would be greatly appreciated!

this was Jorgia's first ATTEMPTED bottle -- things look like they're going well, but soon after the bottle touched her lips -- she got REALLY upset!!

The pics from the Fayetteville weekend, well, they were basically non-existent. We had to keep little Jorgia bundled up! (she also decided to have a major blow-out while in her Razorback attire -- oh me oh my!!)

Darbs had a little too much of the sweet stuff -- we were just trying to keep this girl happy!!

yum yum -- a Blue tootsie roll!

Believe it or not - this is our first family photo! Pretty sad, huh? Darb's did NOT want to take a pic, Jorgia was covered up, I look rather puffy, and Trev -- he's lookin' good!! :)

sweet, sweet, Jorgia!! Happy 7 weeks, sweet girl!!

Six Weeks!!

I know I say this EVERY time, BUT.........I can't believe Miss Jorgia will be six weeks old tomorrow!! I'm trying to post this a little early because I know tomorrow may be a little hectic. This whole week has been a little on the hectic side. "Miss" has been out sick -so - I have been trying to improve my domestic skills (progress is extremely slow!) I've really enjoyed the time with the girls, but as far as the house goes......well, let's just say I'm trying!!

I know I title these posts with however many weeks old Jorgia is, but most of the pictures this time are of Darby Kate. There is no method to this mama's madness -- I guess I'm hoping to have at least 52 posts when Jorgia turns one. ANYWAY -- Jorgia continues to eat, sleep, eat, sleep, and occasionally have some up time. She is giving us some beautiful smiles, and is just as sweet as she can be! She slept ALL night again last night -- we are not consistent with this yet -- but, when it happens....it's great!!

Darby Kate continues to crack me up daily. It amazes me the things she remembers, and the little phrases she picks up when I don't know it (that can be a scary thing, huh?). She is getting to be such a big girl -- I want her to slow down just a bit. She is doing fabulo-so with her potty training. Even with Trev and me - so, that's major progress. Still wakes up with a wet diaper, but hopefully that will improve with time.

We are headed to Fayetteville this weekend for our first Razorback game as a fam of four -- wish us luck!!! :)

Marlon was kind enough to bring us another "pillar". The first one came out of the chrysalis while we were away having Jorgia. We were home this time to see our butterfly -- and Darby Kate was able to let our "fly" FLY!!!

the poor thing was afraid to come out -- we tried different positions to see if it would crawl/fly out

almost........

we finally just picked it up and set it down on some grass

we came back after Darbs got dressed and it was still there! I put the "fly" on Darb's shoulder
this was a cool pic -- it looks as though Darbs is giving the butterfly sugars
she ran all around that day -- she loves to run!

she's holding the butterfly in this one

at some point -- the poor butterfly acquired a torn wing......I'm afraid it was during one of the times DK was transporting the butterfly to and fro

and we all fall down!

we went to a birthday party this last weekend -- it was lots of fun!!

DK painted this way a lot -- without even looking!
they went on a fun hayride!

Jorgia was passed around a little bit.......she looks so big to me in Miss Kelly's arms

too cute!

it was a Pink Pumpkin Party -- so creative!

Darbs decided she needed a hat this day....

then switched to the headband

sisters!!

Jorgia looks like she is thinking...."what in the world is going on?"
