35 Weeks!!

Well, you know the drill -- I've got the same 'ole excuses -- do I even need to say it? Basically, I've been putting this off and putting this off because every time I think of how far behind I am on blogging -- it's just OVERWHELMING!! BUT -- gotta move on -- carpe diem!! I didn't want to do a post on JC without including some stuff on what Miss Darby Kate has been up to. History has come back to haunt me -- she is in this phase where she does NOT want me to take her picture. Mom has told me I did something similar. She only wants her picture made when SHE wants it made. SO -- that's another reason you may see more Jorgia pictures than Darby Kate pictures.

I am so glad that I keep a daily journal. I wish I was better about keeping up with the blog. Alright, enough lamenting........Darby Kate is just growing up I tell ya! She thinks she is such a big girl, and for the most part -- she's right. I do still have her in her crib. She gets out on her own each morning, but she is very cautious. I know -- I need to make the transition. But, I'm convinced she likes her little cubby-bed. Although, she spent this last weekend at Babe's house in Hot Springs and spent two nights by herself in a big girl bed!!! Way to go DK!! Babe and Poppy took Darby Kate to LR to see Disney on Ice -- from the pictures and from what Dixie said -- she really loved it!

Bebe and Pappa kept Jorgia for her first 24 hours away from mommy not too long ago.......and, it actually went okay. She only woke up once in the night, and took the bottle just fine. I was in a panic about it because she was still showing signs of only wanting to take the bottle from "Miss". Trevor and I went to a friend's birthday celebration and had a great time -- it was nice to have a little adult time. Of course, I missed the girls like crazy and was SO ready to see them the next day (the push-me, pull-me effect).

Darby Kate is so fun to have little conversations with. She is very animated and gets very excited when she is telling you about somepin' (something). She still says "otay" which I think is so cute......but for the most part, her other words are coming out much more clear.

She is still sleeping in a diaper. She usually has already taken it off when she comes and sees me in the morning. Depending on what she slept in the previous night will determine whether she is in the buff, or is without undies. For a few nights recently, she felt as though she needed to eat her meals completely nude. Not sure why, but she was determined to take off all of her clothes before eating. Craziness!

I have soooooooooo many more pictures I need to post and stories to tell.........will try to better.......??? Just know that we are having a blast and loving these girls to pieces!!

Oh and Trev and I are doing well, too. He's busy with work and recently put a small dent in the turkey population. I have been busy with the WCR clinic, community activities and training for a few tris. I did my first tri as a mommy of two this past weekend -- had a blast! This weekend we are headed to Dallas to participate in our first "Urban Dare". Will keep you posted!! :)

see what I mean?

8 Months Old!!

Spice is 8 months old!!! Can you believe it? I certainly cannot. I know I sound like a broken record, but time continues to fly!! What is this little lovebug up to? BIG NEWS: she is crawling!! This little one has added a whole new dimension to each of our lives. She is crawling here, there and everywhere. She sees something she is interested in -- she goes after it! She is talking!! She babbles up a storm, but for sure has said "Dada" and makes great efforts to say "Dah" (dog) -- she is looking at Pep or Lucy when she says that. She has eaten rice cereal, wheat cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, green beans, peas, and avocado (and yes, in that order). And soon to have those yummy fruits! She is eating much better -- at first, we got a lot of tongue action and trying to grab the spoon. Now she makes a happy plate almost every time! In the sleep category.......we have had our ups and downs (literally). Recently, she is doing much better and sleeps through most nights. She has a tendency to wake up early on the mornings Mommy does NOT have to get up early and sleep late on the mornings I do have to get up early (what in the world?) :)

She loves her big sis soooooooooooo much! When she sees Sugar, her little eyes light up and she squeals with delight! Sugar can make her have the biggest and sweetest sounding laughs. She is letting me know much more often that she does not like for me to walk out of the room. She lets Sugar tug on her, sit on her, pull her in the wagon (a little on the rough side) with little or no fussing. She still enjoys being swaddled. She is not yet pulling up, but I have a feeling we are not far away.

She loves to grab and pull on everything. She is really studying how to wave "bye-bye". She has the chunkiest monkiest legs you've ever seen (will have to post a pic of those). She is and always will be a pure joy--WE LOVE YOU, SWEET SPICE!!!

This is her trademark move -- tongue out and to the left. She does it all the time -- too cute!
all of these pictures were taken on her exact 8 month b-day (I still need to do her "sign pic")

What a sweetheart!
