21 Months!!!

And we're back! Yeah! I'm so excited to be back to blogging again! I must admit -- the first couple of months were due to fatigue and laziness on my part. BUT, the rest I can blame on computer craziness!!

So much to catch up on, so little time. Since we must start somewhere -- there's no time like the present! Sugar turned 21 MONTHS OLD yesterday!!! I can't believe it. I know I say that with each passing month, but it's true. She is leaving the baby stage and is into toddlerhood with full force. A few things she is doing now.................

** Going 90 to nothing all day long!
** She can jump and attempt to stand on one foot
** She is saying all kinds of words -- can repeat most words -- but she is easier to understand
** LOVES to play with cell phones
** Loves to run and laugh
** trying to say her 1, 2, 3's, but seems to prefer the numbers "2" and "8". I'll say "1, 2, 3, 4", and she'll say, "2, 2, 2, 2!" She will NOT say ONE, although I KNOW she is perfectly capable of saying one. I've even tricked her by saying "uno". And she will say, "uno" HA! (mommy wins! sort of)
** goes back and forth on whether or not she will sit in her booster seat, at the island, or in mommy's lap. Not sure why this is an issue, but some days..............it sure is!
** sleeping through the night well, although bedtime sure does vary during daylight savings!
** still in baby bed -- we've taken out the bumper pad -- a couple of times I've come in and she's either hanging over the rail forward, or has a leg kicked up on the side.
** Knows her "Bebe, Papa, Unc (uncle B), Rah Rah (S), BA, MB, GE, Babe (some days it's Dixie :) ), Poppy, Cici (SIL -- we're working on that more), ME (M) and "Miss" "-- too cute!
** She loves to watch "Jacks Big Music Show" -- she asks for it right when she wakes up, and right after Miss leaves (I try not to let her watch TV during the day)
** Still loves bananas and cheese
** She is going to the potty! (still not consistent, though) She does much better for Miss then she does with us. But, she's even had some time without a diaper and did pretty well.
** She's so sweet my heart just can't stand it sometimes -- she will give the biggest hugs and sugars -- just out of the blue!!

And those are just a few things. I'll have to catch up on others as I go along. For other news that's been going on since we've last chatted...for those who don't know...we are expecting baby C2! During the first trimester, I was really tired -- I did pretty terrible with my picture taking/journaling. Hopefully, I will be able to make up for it. Now, I am 20 weeks along and things are going well. We had our 2nd ultrasound yesterday, and we received a good report (a true blessing from God)! We elected once again NOT to find out if baby is a boy or girl. I know. I know. Of course, I would love to know (everyone always asks me that), BUT it truly is a wonderful surprise when the time comes along -- so, I can wait. How many TRUE surprises in life do we really get? Anyway, I'll be reporting on things from now on -- just know that if some of my comments seem sarcastic/negative -- I'm just making light of the situation. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to bring a child into the world. Sugar has shown me first hand the miracle of life -- and I don't take that for granted. That's not to say that I won't poke fun here and there along the way.

Also -- we are building a house! Just one block over from where we live now. Our family is outgrowing the house we are in now, so we figured we better do it now. I will post pictures soon of the progress. The foundation will hopefully be poured next week! It's very exciting/stressful -- sooooooooooooooo many decisions, decisions, decisions!!

Below are a few pictures of Sugar's EXACT 21 month Birthday. Her hair is a little wild -- she had just woken up from a nap (I love crazy nap hair!) Oh yeah -- it's been so long since I've blogged -- I forgot the order I needed to download the pics -- will do better next time!

Here is an example of what she is eating these days. She likes to use a fork (or a "poon"). Here she is having a grilled cheese, turkey, fruit cocktail, crackers and hummus ("dip, dip!"), and a few olives. She ate really well last night, and asked for "moe" (more). She will point to the section that she wants more of and say "moe, moe", "moe, peeze" (more please)

She looks a little scratched up, beat up -- but trust me -- she is A-OK!

She had a pine needle in between her toes and HAD to get it out!

  1. Darby Kate is a doll! Feel free to add our link to your page & we'll do the same. Blogging keeps all the grandparents in the know - they get upset if I miss too many days in a row. Congrats on the new baby!
