Blessed

So blessed.

So, so blessed.

I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate the birth of Jesus...

Family...

Fellowship...

Fun...

and of course, Food!

I have so many great pictures to post, but my computer is running at a snail's pace for some reason.

I just don't want to end this day without saying how grateful I am.

Grateful for my wonderful husband and three beautiful girls.

Grateful for being with loved ones.

Grateful for friends near and far.

So blessed.

So very blessed!

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

AWB Ornament Exchange

Yay! The great REVEAL!

I am participating in an ornament exchange with Arkansas Women Bloggers.

Several weeks ago we had the opportunity to sign up, we were then assigned a person to send a homemade ornament to, and now we are to blog about receiving our gift.

This has been so fun for me! First of all, I LOVE ornaments with special meaning. We have, what I call, a DECORATIVE tree in our great room and a FAMILY tree in our family room. Most of the ornaments on the family tree have a SPECIAL meaning.

For example...

My personal favorites....made by my little lattes.

An award from a race...

A hand-carved spoon to my little from my Dad...

A keepsake from an adventure...

They are ALL special.

And now, I will get to add one from a fellow AWB! (yes, I'm goofy and giddy and everything in between. Just ask the Hubs.)

I had a little anxiety about sending my NOT-SO-CRAFTY homemade ornament to a crafter, but once that was complete -- I was able to move on to the excitement of looking forward to receiving my new ornament (ok....that totally sounds like I like receiving BETTER than giving. So not-true, Mom.....really -- you taught me better!) :)

My package arrived a couple of days ago. All taped up nice and neat.

FRAGILE was written on the outside.

Hmmmmm....

a hint.....

something breakable.

I ripped into the box in an excitedly cautious way.

On the inside, I found the coolest GLASS ball with a paper flower inside!

See what I mean? Love it!!

Super cool!

Much craftier than I!

Thanks so much, Connie from Scrapbook wife running in Arkansas! I enjoyed getting to know a little about her through her blog. In just a few short minutes I discovered we had several things in common. A love of running and Top Gun! So fun!

**if any of you blogging experts out there have any tips on uploading photos easier, placing a post to a page on title bar, or basically ANYTHING to make blogging life better -- PLEASE fill me in!! I just looked back on a couple of posts done on my phone... and some of the pics have disappeared! This was disheartening since I THOUGHT that the phone app was a new discovery to quick uploading. The search continues...

Let them eat SNAILS!

Any time we are in the Dallas area, we do our best to swing by Central Market. It's a foodie's dream.

This place is an outing for us, folks. Entertainment. Excitement.

 I know....

It's a grocery store.

But,......

It's not your everyday grocery store.

ESPECIALLY for us who are not privileged to nifty places like this every day.

This place has EVERYTHING you could ever want or need for a meal, recipe, etc.

You name it -- they've got it.

For REAL!!

We NEVER have enough time. Our trips there ALWAYS seem rushed.

AND then throw in three precious littles in the picture....

ADD a little STRESS in the mix.

But, we go anyway.

Loading up the bus-cart

Look out shoppers -- Bean and Spice are at the wheel!!

At some point in the frenzy, the hubs and I split up. He had Sugar and Spice. I had Bean.

Bean is still not eating ANYTHING and  EVERYTHING. So, occasionally I have to sneak a sample or two while she isn't looking. That baby girl doesn't miss a thing! She sees me dipping bread in some olive oil (okay...so, she doesn't know it's olive oil. she doesn't care. She just WANTS it). It's all over at this point. She's jumping up and down in my arms like a little Mexican jumping bean. I'm holding her in one arm, dipping bread with the other AND attempting to steer our mini bus-cart. After THREE trips back to the bread bin, we meet back up with the Hubs. Sugar is beaming. She tells me, "I'm going to eat SNAILS". I look at her and say, "Seriously?". She holds up this little CAN. I read the label. Well, actually I didn't read the label -- it was in French. But, I'm fully aware of the meaning of escargot.

Fabulous, Hubs. What the hey -- SNAILS.....in a CAN???!!??

I'm all about experiencing the delicacies in life. But, in a fresh way. NOT CANNED!!!

Needless to say the three hour drive home did not deter her from her goal of consuming canned snails. She was SERIOUS about some SNAILS.

I held her off until the Hubs could home from the hunt of the day. No way was I going to dish out the canned SNAILS.

The preparation for the snails began.

The can was opened (ha!).

The juice was drained.

They were zapped for a bit in the micro.

They were drizzled with a little garlic-butter.

the first bite....

thinking about it.....

ALL SMILES!! She loved them!

That girl ate more snails than I would have ever dreamed!

I tasted ONE....

and that was ENOUGH!

I couldn't  chew that rubbery sausage/mushroom like funkiness fast enough!

Maybe in a state of freshness I would be able to tell a different story.

But not TODAY!!

Love that she LOVED them.

Love that she had a new experience!

Bon appétit!!

Blogging on the go

I HAD to do my first Blog-on-the-go because A) my sister-in-law just told me how to do it, and B) I couldn't wait to see if my images would upload faster!

We have had a great Thanksgiving/Christmas Parade/Birthday Party weekend! More pics to follow!!

(**addendum: I used the Blogger App on my phone to make this post. Love that I was able to make a quick post, but was unable to write captions for the photos. Only until I opened the post on my home computer was I able to make those changes. I also LOVED how quickly my photos uploaded!!)

These little cuties enjoyed riding the Dart train to the parade

Cousins. They want to do many things together AND alike (note: same hair)

Sugar hugged up to Daddy

these guys are running buddies, too
